For its products, processes, and services, the bioeconomy uses biological, chemical, and physical conversion processes as part of a circular economy.
Through innovative technologies, biological substances and processes can thus be better utilized in order to increasingly dispense with fossil raw materials such as coal or petroleum in the future.
Only in the interplay of economical, ecological, social, and ethical as well as legal aspects can research contribute to a sustainable bioeconomy. To this end, the three faculties of the University of Hohenheim optimally complement each other to find holistic solutions for the major challenges of our time - climate protection, food security, resource conservation, and sustainable management of natural resources.
