The “Concepts of Sustainable Bioeconomy” open online course describes the bioeconomy and its underlying concepts from a meta level. It addresses key questions such as: How can the bioeconomy contribute to sustainability? What is the role of innovation and knowledge in the bioeconomy? What is necessary for the transition towards a sustainable bioeconomy?
It was developed by the University of Hohenheim as part of the ABBEE strategic partnership (Accelerating the transition towards the Bio-Based Economy via Education), which is funded by the Erasmus+ program. It is one of four courses offered by leading European universities in the bioeconomy field.
