The open online course "Concepts of Sustainable Bioeconomy" describes the bioeconomy and its underlying concepts from a meta-level. It addresses key questions such as: How can bioeconomy contribute to sustainability? What is the role of innovation and knowledge in the bioeconomy? What is necessary for the transition towards a sustainable bioeconomy?
It was developed by the University of Hohenheim as part of the strategic partnership ABBEE (Accelerating the transition towards the Bio-Based Economy via Education), funded by the Erasmus+ program. It is one of four courses offered by leading European universities in the field of Bioeconomy.

Who can join?
The course is targeted towards Master-level students from different programs, practitioners (future employers of bioeconomy students, professionals working in bioeconomy sectors) and future students of M.Sc. programs related to bioeconomy as well as persons interested in lifelong learning and sustainability.
